There are several methods to determine your finger size, also known as your ring size. You can use a special measuring tool that has rings in every size – selecting the one that fits best.
What does it mean for a ring to fit? It means it isn’t too tight (it doesn’t dig into the skin and can be removed easily) and it doesn’t fall off – when shaking hands or washing hands. Everything in between is the correct size, and the rest depends on individual comfort.
Women often experience swelling of fingers in the summer, during warmer weather, or at certain times of the menstrual cycle – this is related to hormonal balance and water retention in the body and is completely normal. We must then decide which size will be the most comfortable for us at different times of the year and the cycle.
If you don’t have a professional measuring tool, you can measure a ring you already own that fits the desired finger. For engagement rings, you need the size of the ring finger, which is the fourth finger of the right hand. If you have an existing ring, measure its inner diameter – using calipers or placing the ring on a ruler that crosses its center exactly.
Various online portals describe methods of measuring your finger with string or ribbon – I do not recommend this method as it is very inaccurate.
In general, I recommend ordering a ring slightly larger than the probable size of your partner (especially if you are not sure about it). It is important that the ring is not too tight at the time of the engagement.
When ordering an engagement ring from my jewelry design studio in Warsaw, we can change and adjust the size of the ring exactly after the engagement. This ensures that it will fit perfectly.

Remember that different brands may have different size charts, so it’s always a good idea to check the size according to the specific manufacturer’s guidelines. If possible, visit me in my studio to measure your finger size accurately. It’s always better to spend a little more time on precise measurements than to risk the ring not fitting.
Don’t worry… You are not alone. Ideally, you would “acquire” one of your partner’s rings and visit me in my studio in Warsaw. With the help of a professional measuring tool, I will take the size from it. If you can’t visit me, try to measure the inner diameter with a ruler. If you absolutely cannot measure it, write to me or call me – we’ll figure something out.
